How to globally change marker types

Hi Forum,

I'm looking for a tool which can globally change markers of one type to another. I have a set of structured books which have a load of markers of type 'Index', and I'd like to change the marker type to something else more meaningful throughout the book.

I've had a look at Marker Tools from Leximation, but as far as I can tell, I can only change the marker text, not the type. I don't particularly want to delve into the MIFs, as there are a lot of files (hundreds).

Anybody know of a tool that'll do what I need?

Thanks in advance,

Jon

Does anyone have any ideas on how I might make this job easier?

Thanks again,

Jon

Give Frank Stearns a jingle -- he publishes IXGen, which is a great tool, but I'm unsure if it supports changing the core marker type or not. http://www.fsatools.com/
