Hello,
I have :
1) chapter 1 with 4 pages
2) chapter 2 with 2 pages
I would like to begin the page numbering from the first page of chapter 1, but I don't want to display the page number on page 1. How to do this ?
Hi, Pierre,
In that chapter, I would create an additional master page First with no page number in the footer and apply it to the first page of the chapter.

I have done "Format > Page Layout > Master Page Usage" and applied the new master page (with no page number) on page 1 with no problem.
Now, for another example, I have a chapter with 12 pages, and would like to start the numbering from page 3 to page 12. By example, page 3 = "1", page 4 = "2", etc ... How to do this ?

I have a question about Master page usage :
In this case, I have created two Master pages in the same FM document : With page numbering / Without page numbering.
But I am obliged to do it for each FM document.
I have tried also to create 2 separate FM document templates : one With page numbering / one Without page numbering, but if I import them (File/Import/Format) inside my main FM document it does not works (it gives me the format content of the last imported template).
So, how to apply a Master page to several FM documents in one go ?

If they share the same page layouts, you can at least import-formats to copy-in the new MPs.
In general, the Master Page Usage approach above is OK for lead pages, but is unstable for inner pages, as the content needing no-page# can reflow to another page as content is added/deleted eleswhere in the document.
The more stable approach is to use AMP (Apply Master Pages), but this first requires that there be one or more unique Paragraph Formats in the text requiring no-page#, as the AMP table on a Reference Page applies pages by para tag.

How to do "apply master page" ?

Presuming a simple single-file document:
Now when you run an AMP, MPs will get assigned per table.
For book, all document files in the book need to have that RP & a mapping table (the contents of which can vary by file). When implemented, you can then also run an AMP from the Book menu (it's an option in Update Book).
