I messed up and need a backup copy of ditafm.ini for FM12.

One of my coworkers got FM12. The rest of us have 11 but our IT department said they couldn't get a new license for 11, so he got 12. I supposed we'll all upgrade at some point, but...

I've been trying to configure his copy to our output. I won't get into the trouble I've been having with that just yet; first, I hope someone can help me with this.

While I was trying to get his output to work correctly, I accidentally overwrote his copy of ditafm.ini without backing up the original (I know...), and now I'm having a whole new set of problems. I need to start fresh, but, as you can see, I messed up.

Could someone in this forum please give me a copy of the default ditafm.ini (not ditafm-output.ini) for FrameMaker 12, or even just post the text of the file here so I can copy it back in?

I promise I'll be more careful in the future....

Thanks in advance.

Mine's not in a "default" state, so won't really help.

However, FM should generate a new one for you. Try this ..

1) Delete (or rename) your current ditafm.ini (in %appdata%\Adobe\FrameMaker\12)

2) Restart FM and go into DITA Options, then click Save (no need to change anything)

You should now have a new "default" ditafm.ini file.

Hi Scott,

Thanks; it turned out that he also didn't have the correct application mappings, so I had to copy those in and now it's working as you described. But I had to basically screenshot my application mappings and go type them by hand into his copy of FM, since I couldn't find a file that defines them and found no way to easily propagate my settings to his machine--even reading the structapps file didn't seem to help. I know this is off-topic here and I don't really expect an answer, but it's a real pain to set up new users with common settings.

Thanks again.
