FM xm8.0p277 on Solaris.

The following problem seems to happen only on Solaris (not Windows) and only for the Myriad Pro font, and only if the kerning is turned on, which leads me to believe it is a kerning issue.

If the character sequence ct (anywhere in a word, like section or action) is followed by the lowercase letter o on the same line, the c and t are sometimes separated by a large space, both on-screen and in resultant pdf file.

For example,

This section belongs to

...appears as...

This sec   tion belongs to

ct o

...appears as...

c    t o

sector two

...appears as...

sec   tor two

If you add some more text to the end of the line, the extra space sometimes disappears and sometimes not - depending on how the letters fall.

Type one of the examples slowly while watching the screen and some combination is bound to exhibit the gap.

Very strange. Can anyone else replicate this problem?

bump ... anybody??

In the meantime I suspect you might get more Solaris users if you were able to post to the FrameUsers list, at hhttp://www.frameusers.com   Dave -- with the recent Adobe forum software changes here, the traffic has dropped off considerably.
