Computing Environment:
Windows XP Service Pack 3
FrameMaker 9.0p250
I just upgraded from FM 7 to FM 9, and I notice that the list of paragraph styles in the Paragraph Catalog and under the Format > Paragraphs menu path is ordered differently. This change is making it more difficult to select paragraph styles using keyboard shortcuts (pressing F9 and then typing a shortcut key).
Previously, if I had two styles such as B Body Text and BK Body Text (the
BK Body Text style has the "Keep With Next Paragraph" option), the B Body Text style would be listed above BK Body Text in the list. Now, the order is reversed.
It appears that the space character is being sorted differently in lists of paragraph style names. Formerly, the space character came before A-Z and 0-9. Now, however, it comes after.
I am using the same document template that I used in FM 7. I am also using the same keyboard layout (Dvorak).
Is there any way to change this?

Unfortunately I'm pretty sure the answer is that there's no way to change this. It's been a major issue for many folks (myself included).
If you would do so, please put a bug report into Adobe, here:
Adobe - Feature Request/Bug Report Form
so that once again this issue could be raised, in hopes that the next FM version might regain this and some others of the keyboard shortcut functionality that so inexplicably went missing.

Edit: by the way, this change happened in ver 8.

There is a setting in maker.ini, in the section that I think
fixes this:
SymbolSortingBeforeAlphaNumeric=On
If I recall correctly, the setting is not there by default. You have to
manually add it.
