Hi all
My colleague has seen some strange behaviour within a book file.
He wanted to standardise the conditions within a book, without going into each file individually.
He saved the book file as a MIF, used a text editor to remove the unwanted condition tags from the ConditionCatalog in the MIF file, then saved.
Opened the MIF file in Framemaker (12) and saved as a book file.
When he scrolled through the files in the book window, without actually opening them, the conditions listed (for both the MIF and the book file) were correct.
However, when he actually opens individual files, all the unwanted conditions are back again in the Show/Hide Conditional Text pane.
Does MIF washing not work for conditions? I was under the impression it did/should but it seems not to!
Is this a bug or am I deluded?! 🙂
Thanks in advance
Laura

Never tried that. Not surprised it didn't work.
That's probably only removing the catalog entries, and not removing the tagged text instances.
The way to remove a Condition is with the Condition menu. When you delete an entire Condition, FM gives you a choice of making the text unconditional (i.e. remove just the tags) or removing the text (tags and text).

Thanks for getting back to me on this.
We were trying to avoid having to manually delete every stray condition in each file in the book.
Is there no way to do this at the book level?
