Where are you saving the document to? If you create a new blank document using one of the FM templates, add some lorsum text to it and save it, does that throw the error too?

So what’s it look like in Explorer where you’re saving it? Do you have enough rights to save in that location?

Jeff,

Why do you think that might be happening?

I am able to save 5-6 times and then it fails and give me above error.

You didn’t tell us if it was happening after a period of time. What happens with a new fresh doc? Does it bomb after saving several times too? Where are you saving your docs?

The odd-suffix error message means that FM can't overwrite the existing file (folder, file, group permissions?). The version saved with with three odd characters is you .fm file.

Sometimes an aggressive anti-virus app on a slow machine can be holding onto a file while it's being scanned, preventing FM from doing it's normal file operations that may result in the same message.

My machine is fast.

To answer Jeffs question the similar issue pops when I start modifying the new template also.

When I inserted some table and saves 5-6 times it just crashed.

I am on the Connected network backup? do you see it can be issue.

Where Am I saving the document ?? --> C:\Users\ymmutha\Documents\official_doc

I have all the permissions in this area.

Then it’s got to be something in your environment that’s causing this. Did it just start happening or has it not worked since day1?

Glad you figured it out. Something was interfering with FM's file operations, so it looks like adding automated backup software to the list of usual suspects is now warranted.
