I'm not sure whether you are asking about DTDs, application definitions, or documents. If you want to combine multiple FrameMaker documents into one publication with continuous page numbering and a common table of contents, put the different chapters into a book. Book components can be derived from different XML documents and use different templates. If you want to save the entire book to XML (or SGML), though, you'll need a combined DTD (and it sounds like you've got that already).

Cameron, I have a delima that I am trying to contend in which I am hoping you can offer me some guidance. I am needing to create an EDD for a MIL-STD 3001, my first attempt and my kung-fu in FrameMaker developing is not that strong. I am wondering if you can guide me or share with me how you created your MIL-STD 3001 EDD for your template, how you created the DTD and FOSI files. I have absolutely nothing to start from, and any help what so ever would be greatly appreciable, thanks.
