Hello,
on one specific computer (FM) it is not possible to assign a new DPI value to an existing image. Normally you right click the image, open the properties, then open another secondary window to select a new DPI value. You must then confirm both windows (i.e. click "apply" or related), but on this system the properties window immediately closes as soon the the DPI value is selected. Thus the new DPI is not applied, although FM thinks it is and shows the selected DPI when the properties window is opened again (as if it had been applied correctly).
Does anybody have a solution for this behavior?

From what I've seen this is a "feature" ... and [naughty word] annoying it is too. The only way I've found of changing the DPI in FM 9.0 is reimporting the graphic.

I really think it is a bug because it does not happen everywhere, only on one specific workplace. On all others workplaces a DPI can be assigned correctly.

Robert,
If something happens on one computer only, check the version and patch level (9.0p255).
Next, with the new UI there are some options and not all of them play well with all of FrameMaker’s dialogs. E.g., if you open dialogs only temporarily from collapsed/iconized state they sometimes hide away before anything useful can be done. I rarely work with collapsed windows/dialogs/pods, I have them docked or closed.
This works for me with a docked Object Properties window:
What is different in your workflow?

Michael,
we follow that exact workflow, with the exception that step 4 is not possible on that specific computer. The Properties window in which you would click "Apply" simply disappers as soon as you click "Set" in the extra dialog.
I thought at first too that it is simply a question of using the UI correctly. I tried moving the dialogs around and docking them on variousplaces, rebooting FM etc. The problem remains.. maybe reinstalling FM will help.

Robert,
First compare the settings in File >Preferences > User Interface. You have checked the version number?

Are you refering to any specific setting? I tried to select or unselect the various options but could neither correct the problem nor reproduce it on another computer. I will check the verion as soon as possible, but I am quite shure that the installation was done only a few days ago using the latest patches. I will check that though.
Thanks for your efforts : )
