A contractor sent me FM file created in FrameMaker 2017. I have FrameMaker 2015. I cannot open these files. We no longer work with this contractor, so I cannot ask him to save the files in an older version or as MIF.
One easy possibility is to download the 30-day free (and fully functional) trial of FrameMaker 2019 (here), open the FM 2017 files there and then just save as MIF and reopen the MIFs in FM 2015.
Stefan's suggestion is the most elegant. If you don't have a machine (or VM instance) on which to install a trial version of FM2019, you could also try heroic open on FM2015.
