When I try to import comments (File > Import > PDF comments), I get the error "Corrupt tag structure!". Is there any way to fix this?
Here is the whole long story:
1. I made a set of PDFs (Acrobat Pro X) from FM 12 documents for Shared Review. These were NOT tagged PDFs, because Shared Review doesn't seem to like them.
2. I sent them out for shared review and collected comments.
3. I saved the review copies as archive, to consolidate the comments.
4. I added tags (Tools > Accessibility > Add Tags to Documents).
5. Opened the original FM document, imported PDF comments, got error.
Are Shared Review and Import PDF Comments incompatible? Does Import PDF Comments not work if you add tags later? Something else? Any help is appreciated.

PDFs generated for review from within FM always use a tagged structure. FM automatically generates the tagging based upon the paratags and other internal UniqueIDs. Since you added some tags after the fact, FM doesn't know anything about what you added (they won't match the internal ones that FM uses) so it complains that it's corrupt.

Thanks for the hints. First, these files were generated for review (Save as Review PDF > Enable Commenting in Reader), but Generate Tagged PDF was not checked. This caused an odd error when we tried to send for Shared Review: "The document you have chosen cannot be sent for shared review or collaboration because its current security permissions do not allow modifications"
As a result, the PDF were NOT created as Review PDFs. I guess this means that we can't import the comments. Oh well.

If you don't check the "Generate Tagged PDF" then it's game over for trying to import the comments back into FM.
The error message that you got about the security settings means that someone possibly added a password protected feature prior to sending out for the Shared Review.
