Recovering a deleted reserved Master Page (Left)

Using FM8 in Tech Comm Suite (Win XP)

I'm pretty new to FrameMaker without a lot of experience fiddling with Master Pages. In my current document, I must have deleted the Left Master Page at some point. Now I want it back but when I try to create one, FrameMaker balks and tells me it's a reserved page name.

Does anyone know a way to recover the original Left Master Page or know some other way to add it?

Thanks!

Only documents that are set to be double-sided can have a Left master page, so the solution is to set the Pagination properties of the document to be two-sided, which will automatically add the Left master page.

Unfortunately doing so won't recover any special formatting you might have already done on the previous Left master page, so you'll have to do that again.

Thanks Shelia!

I didn't realize that there was a one-sided vs. two-sided option. Setting it to two-sided worked like a charm. I got my Left page back and dressed it up to coordinate with the Right page.

Thanks!
