Hello all,
Currently, I am preparing a book for translation and am trying to save it as a pdf. This all works fine, but the created document is secured even though the settings for adobe pdf (printer) are set to no security.
How can I get FM (9) to create a pdf file without security?
Thanks,
Pieter

What happens when you print to the Adobe PDF printer instance instead of using Save As?

I get a .ps file which gives an error stating that it is not accessible. I checked print as pdf and do not print as .ps file I will try this again to be sure but figured that Frame must provide an option to disable the secured pdf and allow an unsecured pdf to be created.

It must be picking up a joboptions file that tells it to secure it. What happens when you just start up Acrobat by itself (outside of FM)? Is there a setting in it that tells it to set security on PDFs?

No I haven't seen such a setting

When you print to the Adobe printer, on the FM Print dialog box, make sure that Print To File is NOT checked -- that's what's causing it to generate a .PS file instead of a PDF.

I am trying your suggestion now. A second generation created
just a ps file again, which is not accessible.
Attempting to extract the ps file to a pdf gives the following error. Does this have anything to do with the creating of a pdf or are my local settings wrong? If possible to explain..

Hi Pieter
In Acrobat Distiller, choose Settings > Security and check the security
options there.

Unchecking the save to file option and saving to another location seems to have solved the problem
Thanks for the info
