Structure deleted?

Hi guys,

I'm using Frame 7.1, someone opened my Structured doc with the unstructured version of Frame and saved it. Now when I open my document, I can't view any of the structured elements. The Elements list is empty and selecting View > Element Boundaries (as Tags) does nothing.

I've tried importing the elements from a template but this didn't work.  Is there a way for me to get the structure back in the document or is it gone forever?

Thanks

achunt,

Unfortunately, it is gone. Your only option is to restructure it using traditional means, usually a conversion table. If your EDD relies more on paragraph and character formats versus internal overrides, it shouldn't be too difficult. On the other hand, if the EDD did most of the format application itself, it may be less straightforward. In any case, it needs to be restructured because that thing that "someone" did definitely wiped out any structure trees in the file.

Thanks for the quick response Russ! I was hoping for an easy fix but I expected there wasn't one.

Thanks again

The only easy fix would be if you had a backup .
