It's taken a long time, both to acquire and then to install, but we've got there: I now have FM 2019 to discover, while cautiously keeping FM 2012 there to finish current projects. I've also been happily discovering DITA, without using FrameMaker, so I've acquired some new ideas.


Simple question: do unstructured FM 2019 .book files support some sort of hierarchy (like a .ditamap) or are they still simply "this book contains these .fm chapters"?

 

Now to carry on learning about FM 2019 – I have the feeling it's going to be quite a jump …

Sort of. You can have folders or books inside books.

When you want to navigate in an unstructured file as you can do in structured file, you can use Klaus Daube's new ExtendScript script:
