Hi,
I thought I had sent this post a little while ago but I don't see it, so I'm re-adding it.
I have a book file that has 4 empty pages in one file. I have tried various ways to delete them, as per the help information that is available. They have not been deleted. What is also strange is that 3 of these pages has a footer with the chapter name and page number, and 1 page does not. And of course the start of the next chapter has an incorrect page number because the book counted the blank pages.
What am I missing?
Any help would be great!
Thank you.
Cheers,
Elizabeth

Make sure they are actually empty.
Turn on Text Symbols.
Enable any and all Conditions.
set Color Views to show all colors.
One of the blanks (the last) might also be explained by the Pagination settings in the first para of the next page with content.
The Delete Page feature of FM is rarely useful.

Hi,
I have followed your suggestion, but the pages remain empty. There is nothing on them other than the 3 that have footer information.

If you put the text cursor in the last line of the page with pre-blank text, and → forward, does it ever pause on any of the blank pages before getting to the next intended-content page?

Yes, the cursor goes to the first blank page.

That implies that there's something there, perhaps hidden. On truly blank pages, such as those resulting from Start at Top of Left Page and similar, the blank page cannot be clicked in.

Hi,
I think I found what is causing the blank pages. There were links to other sections (that were removed) on the first page and that content was probably on those now blank pages. Is there any way to remove those blank pages now that we know what they once contained?
Thank you.

Hi Elizabeth,
I would click at the end of the text on the last page and press ENTER and then SHIFT and CTRL and hold it pressed and press the down arrow key until you do not see that more text is selected. Then press the DELETE key.
I assume that you also had tried to delete the page with Format | Document | Delete Pages. This had not worked?
And I do not know, whether you told us: Is this a structured or a non-structured file?
Best regards, Winfried

Hi,
I just tried that solution, but nothing changed. This is an unstructured file.
Thank you.

Go to Track Text Edits->Preview Off and see whether there is deleted text at the end.
