Hi,
I am in the process of trying to resolve cross references in a FM 2020 TOC in a PDF. When I display the cross references in the chapters identified, there are no unresolved ones displayed. When I click the unresolved cross reference entry in the error log, the corresponding chapter opens. I discovered that there is conditional text applied to the entries that are appearing as unresolved cross references.
How do I fix the conditional text issue, and how do I get the links in the TOC to work?
Thank you for any help.
Cheers,
Elizabeth

Not quite sure what you're doing here - if you make an xref to some location and that location is subject to conditions; you have to ensure that you're showing all text (i.e. no conditions) for it to work. Or you need to apply the same conditioning to the location that launches the xref.

Hi,
The cross references that are appearing in the Book Error Log are indicated as belonging to one particular chapter. I happened to copy the chapter from another book and most if not all the conditional text does not apply to that particular chapter. I have tried deleting some of the conditional tags but that has made no difference. In the PDFs TOC, the links are still not working for that chapter. I have checked other chapters to compare, and the setttings are the same. I don't know what else to try. The chapter content in the PDF is ok, but it would be nice to get the links working.
Thank you for all your help.
Cheers,
Elizabeth

You need to clear out the conditional text tags on the content itself. Then update the book without any errors.

Sounds like the duff Xrefs are in text that you can't see due to having a Condition Code that is currently set to Hide:
View » Show/Hide Conditional Text

In addition to being hidden by CC, other ways of concealing text from document stewards would apply, such as an Xref on a left Master Page when the document is set to single-sided mode.

Hi,
When I update my books, I have often error messages about unresolved cross-references. However, when I search for unresolved cross-references, then nothing is found.
Yes. I also think that this is related to conditions, but my impression is that these messages are not correct.
There is also a report in Adobe Tracker.
