I am trying to PDF FrameMaker files like I have always done using FrameMaker 9 . Now, after upgrading to Windows 7 and reinstalling my FrameMaker software, I get the following error every time I try to PDF a file using File --> Save as PDF: When you create a PS file you must rely on system fonts and use doc fonts; please go to printer properties, 'Adobe PDF Settings' page and turn OFF option 'Rely on system fonts only; do not use document fonts'. So I do that and I STILL get the error message and cannot PDF the file. I did not have this problem in Windows XP.
I'd appreciate any help to resolve this issue.

Ed, we need more critical nformation.
What specific version of FM9 as shown in Help > About, including the "pxxx" numbers.
What distiller are you using -- do you have a separate full Acrobat Pro install or are you using the "PDF creator addon" that can optionally be installed from the FrameMaker disk?
Did you move your fonts to the same location on the new system vs. the old system?
If you open a brand new file in FM, just type a couple of words, then try to create a PDF of it, both by using the Save As PDF route and also by doing File > Print and being sure that the Acrobe printer is set as the target printer. Does that work?

I have FrameMakerV 9.0p237, Adobe Acrobat ProV9.4.4 and Adobe Distiller V9.4.2220. I installed FrameMaker again from a CD once I upgraded to Windows 7. I did not move my fonts to the same location on the new system vs. the old system. I would not think that doing this is necessary.
I opened a brand new file in FM and typed a couple of words, then tried to create a PDF of it by using File --> Save As PDF. I got the same error message. However, when I selected File --> Print, selected the PDF printer and checked Generate Acrobat Data, it worked. I always used to PDF files by selecting File --> Save As PDF. I'm not sure why that does not work anymore. However, since I can get a PDF file by selecting the PDF print option, that is the way I will do it from now on.
If anyone knows why the other option does not work, let me know. Thanks!

There were reports in the FM world that Save to PDF was flaky for some people up to FM9 (FM10 seems to have fixed that from what I've read). I'd recommend 2 things - first, get your FM version up to p255 & second, use the free SetPrint plug-in to always have your default printer in your FM session set to the Adobe PDF printer instance (other apps aren't affected by this, only within FM).
