Validating Files in Book File

Explorer ,
Sep 24, 2008 Sep 24, 2008
Running FM 7.0, patched-up; Win XP Pro/SP2.

Book file contains several files, all of which are known to contain unset, required attributes and missing/invalid Structure.
Book file is not using valid EDD itself, so displays invalid Element at top, "NoName". Element > Validate caught this invalid HLE at first run, and I clicked to Allow Special Case. But no other error in file set would get caught.
Now, even when I click Clear Special Cases, the HLE in Book File will not get caught.
Individually, files will validate normally, even allowing and clearing special cases will toggle.

Suggestions?
Thanks,
Dave

UPDATE:
Discovered, with Book File set to active document, if I click into Structure View THEN Clear Special Cases, the 'NoName' HLE will get caught again but, still, Validate will not check other files from 'book file level'.

SOLVED!! . . .maybe.. .
Not sure if this is a solution, or a work-around. Not being able to let the computer win, I dug at this some more, and discovered the following:
After I Update/Generate the Book file at least once, all is well! When a validation err is found, FM does not switch to the offending file and show the issue. It simply states the selected file has a problem. I then have to switch manually and run Validate in the document to find the problem myself.
Since the conversion process we are applying to these files will always leave missing attribute values, I might as well run Validate in each file to start with.

Feel free to comment about this Topic if you wish, but I think the mystery is solved.
