Does anyone know if you can run validation on an entire ditamap? And if so, how?

It depends on what you mean by "validation". Each time you opening or save the file it's validated against the DTD/model.

If you're looking for some type of validation or analysis of the files referenced by the topicrefs in the map, then that would require the addition of some XSLT processing to the structure application that you use to open the map. It could be done, but would likely be a fair amount of work.

Or .. if you're looking for the option to generate a "Reference Report" from a map, you'll need to use DITA-FMx ..

Hi Scott,

Thanks for your input. What I wanted to do was validate all the files in the book at once, and yes, get some sort of report. Nice to know you have developed that.
