Why do my character palette always blink and hide?

Try turning on all desired toolbars under View/Toolbars. I noticed in FM12 that the palettes are displayed depending on the function you're using (e.g., Manage Graphics, Authoring, etc.) - top right of the screen. I have all my editing toolbars turned on, then leave the mode to Manage Graphics. Everything stays and I don't have to continually re-open. Hope that helps.

Has it always done this? Are you completely patched up in FM?

I was not aware when did this happen. I even don't remember whether I have tried this function right after the completion of the installation of FM. But what do you mean by fully patch up? Do you mean for the auto update of Adobe? Yes I do. BTW, mine is FM 11.
