Why doesn't FM12 remember where you put Pods, etc?

FM12 never remembers where I put Pods, and I cannot find a solution in the Help.

Is there a way to get FM12 to remember that I don't want pods nested, for example, or to not launch inside of the FM application window?

Once you've arranged the pods to your liking, have you saved these as a custom Workspacee?

Nope, haven't done that yet because FM12 keeps crashing (another issue I just posted). But I'll try it now.

OK, I've looked all over for how to save a Workspace, even used Search in FM Help but nothing came up. Could you clue me in?

Upper-right corner. Click on the current Workspace to get the drop-down list and select the Save option.

Thanks! I found it. Not at all intuitive to find, though.

The Adobe Help should have a topic for Workspaces. I wasted a lot of time searching in FM Help for it and never found it.

Hmmm...

Help > FrameMaker Basics > User Interface > Workspaces

also, a search on the keyword Workspace brings you to the same topic with the first hit.

OK, now I see it. Thanks. But when I did a search, the hits came up "user interface" and a bunch of other seemingly unrelated topics. Why would I think that Workspaces is a topic buried within a bunch of grey text within that category? If a user enters "Workspaces" into Search, that the first hit would be the topic Workspaces.

OK, I'm being too logical... But as a tech writer, this sort of user-friendly stuff is what I focus on.

Anyway, thanks for your help!
