Can FM print paragraph tags?

I am creating a quick reference guide for our templates to show what paragraph tag to select to get the steps/paragraphs to look a certain way. Right now I am having to select the tag, then type the paragraph tag name next to it.

Is there a way for FM to print the paragraph tag name automatically? That way I could take an existing document, turn on that feature, print it out, and make a PDF, have the quick reference guide showing the tags.

Using a script to addagraph tags is one valid approach,

If you don't have scripting skills, you can instead make a copy of the template for the document (or the document itself if you don't have a template). Add the paragraph tag for each paragraph as text in the Autonumber Format field. Add formatting to position the paragraph tag where you'd like it - for example you might change the paragraph to be Across All Columns And Sideheads, and add a tab stop at the edge of the sidehead.

In short, no.

If this is something that you need on a regular basis, then one way to do handle this would be through a script that marches through a document and adds the paratag name to each paragraph.

In the PDF setup (Format | Document | PDF Setup) you can select that the paragraph tag is listed in the PDF bookmarks. Maybe that suffices.

Or you can create a list of paragraphs and add the <$paratag> building block to be displayed.

Thanks for the replies. Oh the joys of making training documents for the team converting from MS Word to FM.

I think I will make a unique "template file" and add the tag name in the autonumbering field so it shows in the document, then generate a PDF. That way the team can look at the PDF, see the formatting they want and the name, then select it in their document. Then when we get new people on the team, they can use the PDF to help speed up their onboarding with FM.
