FM12 on Win7,
I have several hundred FM files and I am supposed to evaluate the IXGen tool for FM.
The IXGen documentation says that the tool damages unicode characters in FM files.
How do I detect unicode characters in these files, preferably with a range search on the Book?
Good news so far: the list of fonts in the Fonts pod does not contain the word "unicode"
Best regards,

What version of IXGen?
Any tool that purports to support FM8 or later really needs to be Unicode-safe.
Even if the user body text is pure ASCII, I suspect that FM's own special "Frame Roman" characters (e.g. the bullet, for bulleted lists) are encoded as Unicode in FM8 or later, unless their \x## hex code exactly matches where that character ended up in the U+00## plane.

I'd reach out to Frank Sterns directly to see what he's talking about:

@Jeff_Coatsworth,
Thanks.
Been there, done that. He recommended FrameUsers; I'm working that now.
Best,
