FrameMaker 2019 and Acrobat 11 Pro Question

Okay, so I am going to get FrameMaker 2019 and move away from FrameMaker 12.

So, currently I use Acrobat 11 Pro for PDFing and such, with Distiller and all.
There is Acrobat DC, but I hate the montly licensing model and have never understood what Acrobat DC would do for me anyway, so stayed away from that.

But, with FrameMaker 2019 and it's new PDFing goodness, what does that mean for my Acrobat 11 Pro installation?

Thoughts? Advice?

Cheers,

Sean

Yes, you still have the print to Adobe PDF option, but a rewritten PDF engine within Fm that resides in the Publish pod.

What Windows is your FM12 running under?

I run my old FM in a virtual machine, so that I don't have to worry about what newer Adobeware, installed on the host OS, might do.

The best Windows of all: Windows 8.1 .... "Pro."

At some point a few months ahead, I'll move to a Windows 10 laptop. I hope it's Pro, too.

So a sense I am getting, and please let me know how wrong or right I am, is that FrameMaker has the same print to PDF option as before, that will use the Adobe PS printer instance and Distiller from Acrobat 11 Pro.

But, also, there is something new, some new baked-in print-to-PDF goodness.

If I'm close, what's the new goodness all about?

Cheers, Sean

So just to confirm, there is not contradiction with having Acrobat Pro and FrameMaker 2019 on the same system?

I couldn't say, as I'm running Acrobat DC. Are you having issues?
