Hi,

I am using Unstructured FrameMaker and text insets. I would like to create/run a report that shows where my text insets are being used (book and section). Is this possible?

From the book menu:

Add > List of > References...

Then select Text Insets from the list on the right.

Is there any way to create a list of text insets that span across multiple books? I found a method where you create a book of books, but the output is ugly and isn't sortable without importing the results into Excel.

You need to format the output as per any other generated list (TOC, Inde, etc.).

You can create an IOR (Index of References) to have the list sorted. The sort order can be controlled using the same methodology as used in a standard index.
