Hi All,

I have few questions about PDF Document & Framemaker:

  1. Can we import PDF file into Framemaker? What are the Steps?
  2. If PDF Document has Links, will those Links create Cross-refs, once they are imported into the Framemaker? How are links imported?

Any of your response will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi Aixtron,

  1. You can import PDF content into Fm in a few ways, including
    • exporting the PDF to RTF/Word using File>Import>File
    • using File>Import>File to bring in a page at a time

If possible, track down the source document for best results in importing.

Hello Matt,

Appreciate your response.

So, I take it that if PDF is imported into the FM, then PDF Links will not survive and we would have to re-create the links (or Xrefs). Additionally, even Styles may need to re-applied (or re-formatted).

That is what I was looking for.

Thank you.
