It is taking 30+ minutes to create a PDF from FrameMaker book. Why?

Why is it taking so long to create pdf from a FrameMaker book. New is a relatively new Creative Suite install.

FrameMaker is not part of the (long discontinued) Creative Suite applications and FrameMaker's creation of PDF is not dependent on any of either the Creative Suite applications or even Acrobat. Old versions of FrameMaker installed a subset version of Acrobat (i.e., Distiller and the Adobe PDF PostScript printer driver instance) for PDF creation and the current version of FrameMaker supports direct PDF creation without any stink'in intermediate PostScript.

What version of FM? Are you all patched up? How are you trying to produce a PDF - print to the Adobe PDF "printer" instance, Save As PDF, publish to PDF (FM2019 version)?
