I need to hide part of the text frame in the body pages behind an object on the master page. I've tried every combination I can think of for Bring to Front, Send to Back, Runaround. No luck. Help?

Thanks,

Jack

Allen,

I don't think it is possible to do what you are trying to do. The master page content is effectively a back-drop to the page that can't directly affect the content of the body page. The only changes that will affect the body page formatting are template text frame positions and run-around properties for graphics.

By definition, objects on the Master Page are always behind items on the Body pages. Best you can do is set a run-around on the Master Page object(s) to repel objects on the Body pages.

As an awkward work-around, you could copy the item from the Master Page and paste it on top of the Body page. Flow issues may be a problem with content updates.

Thank you, Ian and Arnis. I was afraid that would be the answer. Sigh. Now to attempt to invent another solution.

Thanks so much for your help.

This could probably be automated with some ExtendScript. Depending on what is required of course.
