Problem when text inset contains connected text frames

I have a FM2017  document with has a main text frame and a small text frame connected to the main frame.  If I insert this document as a text inset into another document, the text stops flowing into the small text frame.  All of my text stays in the main text frame inside the text inset.

How do I fix this?

Thanks,

Doug

It sounds as if your frames are not connected as part of the same flow. When you do a Select All (Ctrl+A) in the source document, does the entire flow highlight?
