Hi All,

In my document I have several pages with footers & headers, and some without. I'd like to remove the footer & header from a specific page in the document. How can I do it without damaging the master page for the rest of the document?

Did you get this to work, Vicki?

Here's a very simple step-by-step I wrote up for my students, who ask variations of this question all the time:

Adobe FrameMaker: Creating Custom Master Pages - Rocky Mountain Training

After you create the custom master page, just select the background frames with the Select Object tool and delete them. Since I don't see a paragraph on your screen shot to use on a master page mapping table, you might just want to assign it manually.

I would create a separate master page for it. You could also use the Master Page Assignment feature to automatically assign master pages based on paragraph styles.

That was exactly what I was looking for ('Master page Usage').

And it may be possible to automate the application of the exception MP to that content (useful if adding/deleting on earlier pages causes repagination).

This would employ the AMP (Apply Master Pages) function, which can be done at any time, or as part of Updates.

The challenge in this specific case is having some Paragraph Format on the exception page that FM can see. Using a unique Anchor ¶ might suffice.

There is no need to complicate this by creating a new master.

When attempting to remove a header, footer. page#, etc. from an individual page simply use Ctrl + Shift + click on the element to select it, then you can delete or move the offending item from the page.

That's an InDesign trick that doesn't work in FrameMaker.

Hi @nileejo:

That's an InDesign shortcut to override a master page element on a body page. This is the FrameMaker forum.
