Hi,

I am a beginner in using the unstructured framemaker. In unstructured framemaker, when I want to make a manual, should I import texts from other documents or copy it from other document or type characters by myself on the computer keyboard in framemaker? If I type the characters, how can I avoid making mistakes? Thanks in advance.

If you import or copy content in from outside sources, just bear in mind that you may also copy in unwanted formatting styles that you will need to fix up once it's in FM. If you type in content, there's a spell check just like Word.

I would suggest getting a copy of Matt Sullivan's Unstructured FrameMaker: Publishing Fundamentals to use as your guide to FM.

Or take a class.

I have an online Intro class starting on Monday, and this topic is covered, along with establishing the fundamentals of using FrameMaker.
