Using exclude feature doesn't change the page numbering

How can I use the exclude feature in a book? I exclude a file and the file after the excluded file does not pick up the page numbering from the file before the excluded file.

Hello,

After excluding the file, have you done the update book from Book window? If already done, have you got any errors after update? Have you opened the chapters when working on the Book? Does the Book contain previous version files?

Also does the page numbering in all chapters consistent?

Thanks,

Raj
