what does the checkmark for a paragraph tag mean in Adobe Framemaker? I see several checked tags, which are not being used in the document.

Hi There,

The checkmarks in the Catalog listings show the formats that have been applied in the document. For an e.g. if you assign a Heading 1 format to the title, a check will get appear in front of the Heading 1 format in the catalog.

There were few formats were already checked (Body,CellBody, CellHeading, Footnote, TableFootnote and TableTitle) even if they are not used in your document yet because those formats are automatically applied by default when you start typing the content in your document, insert a footnote, a table footnote and a default table, as Framemaker has them identified and they are ready to go when you need them.

Note- You can also click on Options in the Paragraph catalog if you wish to see only used formats, unused formats, delete all unused formats etc.

Regards,

Ajit
