If I were to take up the current offer of the discounted monthly subscription and then cancelled it after 1 year would I lose use of the software ie Lightroom and Photoshop and would they disappear from my pc?
Yes, you will lose the use of the software if you cancel your subscription or it expires and you do not renew it. Early termination fees apply if you cancel before your 12 month contract expires.
The software will not disappear. It will remain installed on your computer but you will not be able to launch it until you renew your subscription. You will have to uninstall it.
Actually the only app that won't open will be Photoshop. LR Classic will still open, AFAIK, but restrict the use to only the Library module and possibly the Export function so you can burn in the edits you've done on your images to a New file. LR never changes the original file so whatever edits you had done will only be visible in LR. that is unless you export them to a new file.
