Owners of old programs simply have problems with Windows 10... none of which is Adobe's fault... Adobe did not change your old program to make it stop working... Microsoft changed their operating system and THAT is why your old program won't work, not because of anything Adobe did... Two ideas that MAY work to install and/or run old programs in Windows 10

-RIGHT click the program icon or EXE and select a compatibility mode in the pop up option window

-or Run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395 to assign FULL Windows permissions may help... this says Encore, but is sometimes required for ALL Adobe programs (this is NOT the same as using an Administrator account) so follow the instructions, substituting the name and location of your specific program for Encore

-also https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/create-local-administrator-account-windows.html

Adobe stopped changing CS4 to work with new systems the moment CS5 was released. You got the right to run it on a lifetime on the system in use at the time. Adobe expected their customers to upgrade each time a new version came out, not buy once.

Unfortunately... As stated above, old programs need an older operating system to really do their thing. This is just how it works In the long run, you're better off just going with the Creative Cloud so you can avoid issues like this. You can view available plans here.

That's kind of funny.  I hope by lifetime, you meant the lifetime of your computer and not yourself.  You got what you paid for.  8+ years of software usage is a lifetime.   That's more than most people get out of their equipment.

Photography Plan is only $10/month and it includes the very  latest versions of Photoshop, Lightroom CC and other perks for digital photographers.  You can install & use it FREE for 7 days.
