Update to Lightroom Classic

Greetings,

I'm currently running Lightroom CC 2015.12 and recently received an email from Adobe about the new October release to Lightroom Classic. However, clicking on Help shows that Updates... is grayed out.

In addition, clicking on Check for App Updates on the Creative Cloud desktop app does not help. It shows that it is up to date.

Please advise on how to get the new update.

Running a Windows machine.

Cheers,

Ilan

Hi Cherishy,

Thanks for the lead. Yes, my machine meets the requirements for Lightroom Classic:

Intel Core i7-5930K CPU @3.50 GHz

32GB RAM

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (version 1703), x64-based processor

Screen resolution 2560x1440

Graphic Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB

I think that the update would fail if the machine was not suitable. For some reason, it's simply not showing that an update is available...

Regards,

Ilan

Hi Ilan,

Thank you for sharing logs. Although you reported that you are using the latest version of Windows, from logs it seems that you are on an older one. This is why the update of Lightroom has been filtered out for you.

Could you please try out the steps mentioned on this page to fix the issue. Also please type in "ver" in command prompt and share the resulting build version of your machine OS with us.

Thanks

Cherishy

Hi Cherishy,

Thanks for following up.

Running the ver command results in the following: Microsoft Windows  [Version 10.0.15063]

My Creative Cloud app displays Lightroom CC (2015), Photoshop CC (2017) and Camera Raw - all are showing as up to date - see below:

Hi Cherishy,

Made contact with Adobe Chat support. Mohammad spent 90 minutes trying to resolve the issue. He deleted all Adobe files and kept getting the same error:

Exit Code: 190

FATAL: Sanity check for installation failed. Current OS version 6.0.6000 doesn't satisfy OS requirements.

FATAL: Error occured in install product workflow with error code 190 error message

Mohammad then collected the system  log and explained that he needs to escalate that to a higher tech support.
I spent more than three hours trying to restore LR and Photoshop...

Still cannot update using the CC application.

Please advise,

Ilan
