Add hex code colors to generative prompt

Explorer ,
Feb 15, 2024 Feb 15, 2024

Wouldn't it be awesome to add hex codes to text prompts?

  • No more typing in a general color and hoping it generates the right one
  • Tremendous for tailoring your artwork
  • Helpful for businesses to stay on brand.

Adobe introduced so many shades of colors.  Let's use them.  Currently Firefly doesn't understand things like off-white, candy apple red, or baby blue.  Oh, I love baby blue..

Thanks for any support.  Happy creating!

It would be great to be able to input hex codes of colors to use in the text effects. This way items could be branded with specefic colors.

I would like a specific color to be applied (rgb, hex, etc)

It doesn't look like you can yet, but I think it would be cool if you could generate an image by giving a specific hex-code. For example, if you wanted a flower that was a specific color, instead of just saying "light yellow" you could say "#fbd896".

It would save time by not needing to Photoshop it and add another reason you would want to use AI to generate the image.

For firefly, being able to pick or suggest what colors in hex codes to use would be helpful

I have some colors that I want to try but I can only pick the default colors. If you have a eye dropper or entering the #HEX color that can help others enter any color they want.

I'd love to be able to Text Prompt Firefly to use a specific colour. It would be great to be able to type:

Boy wearing T Shirt and t shirt colour is hex code #FF0000

(being able to prompt specific colour book colours like Pantone would be even more brilliant!)

You will understand colors in Hexadecimal, RGB or CMYK when describing prompts.

It would be very helpful to be able to enter color HEX numbers in order to have more control of the colors the results have.

To expand on this comment, I would like to see a control like what the Illustrator beta has for colours used in image generation:

I would love this feature too. As a digital scrapbooking designer, I work with colors by their specific HEX codes. Merely prompting, for example, "pink," "dark pink," or "light pink" isn't enough to get the exact color I need, and that's where the HEX codes play a role. This feature would be extraordinarily appreciated!

Came here today to see if this is now available and it's still not... eeek! getting the colors right is so tricky with the current prompting method and it's SO inconsistent!

This might or might not help you, but you can specify colours by hex code in text to vector in Illustrator. I can say what the colour palette, and it will use those colours in generating:

I am trying to generate a pattern with specific colors. I try to input hex codes but it does not understand what I am saying. I would love for there to be a bar on the left that gives you a hex code input, and then the ability to add another code, and another, much like in Figma. If this already exists, please let me know![PII removed by moderator]

Hello @Molly_Mikos,

Currently, only text to vector in Adobe Illustrator allows you to select colours based on hex codes for use in the generation.

Hey everyone,

I love this idea as well.
On Tues we were playing with Pantone Colours in Discord.
I found this to work often...

2 or 3 pallet colors in the style reference

cocktail made of chocolate. I was using "Art" as well.

I do like a good challenge.  Using the HEX withing the Pallet gave this result.

It would be particularly useful for Photoshop. This way I can make photos from different locations look similar.
