Some linked images are not showing when embedding Illustrator files in Photoshop

I use linked images and smart objects to work non-distructively and update graphics easily, but recently, Illustrator doesn't seem to be placing images properly, causing problems with my work-flow. Even in Finder on MacOS Sequoia, when selecting an Illustrator file, the preview window shows some images hidden from the design. This affects Illustrator files in Photoshop and also Adobe After Effects as well.

Illustrator and Photoshop: Latest versions of both programs and latest Beta versions
