 I'm creating a document as above. The document can be any size. Illustrator is creating a document with 0mm bleed to the top. See below.

 This is consistent but has only been occurring for a week or so? Anyone know why this is happening?

Which version is that?

Did you already reboot the computer? and reset the preferences (which will erase all your settings)?

I hadn't reset the preferences Monika. That's cured it. Unfortunately my interface now looks totally alien!

Glad you could solve it.

After you have arranged the preferences in the way you want them, it might be a good idea to make a copy of your fresh preferences. You need to close Illustrator and then make the copy.
