I have no idea what's going on here. This has never been a problem before. If I try to move a point with the grid on it's fine. If that point has curve lines assoicated with it, it will not move if the grid snap is on. Attached video, you can see it not work, then I turn grid snap off, it works, and then grid snap back on it no longer works.

@MLMcMillion I can reproduce that in the following way in version 29.5
If a point is on a grid and Smart Guides and Snap to Grid are On, the point can be moved and snaps to the grid.
If a point is off the grid and Smart Guides and Snap to Grid are both On, the point cannot be moved.
If a point is off the grid with Smart Guides Off and Snap to Grid On, the point can be moved and snaps to the grid.
There was no problem in a previous 2024 version.

Illustrator 29.5.1
Snap to Grid is on.
Snap to Pixel is off.
If I have a path with multiple anchor points I can not select an individual anchor point—using the Direct Selection Tool—if that point is not snapped to the grid.
This was possible before. So I can now not select and move an individual achor to the grid.

Hello @Daniel Bruce,
Could you share a small screen recording of your exact workflow and the problem, including the settings, and confirm the version of the OS installed, as well as whether you are using a pen or tablet as a pointing device, so I can check it on my end?
Looking forward to hearing from you.

I've slowly realized Illustrator doesn't snap anything anymore. Trying to align a guide to a rectangle - it just doesn't. I have to manually adjust it - the cursor doesn't get white as it used to when hovering over a point.
Holding shift snaps to something else near the desired point. Zooming in finally snaps to the point.
So I have to quickly zoom in every time I snap anything, than quickly zoom out.
Of course, I have checked the "snap to" options in View - it still doesn't snap appropriately.
Why does software like Figma make it EXTRA difficult to NOT snap to point, while Illustrator, it seems, has moved away from precision?

Are Smart Guides on (View > Smart Guides)?

If anyone can help me to get the lines to meet as they usually do that would be great.
It seems I can only move my selected line in designated distances not freely as I wish.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Maybe check if Snap to grid or snap to pixel is turned on.
