Activation of Draw Inside

I selected the path of the ellipse this activate draw inside mode. But when I sected the path of the giraffe it did not activate draw inside mode. What is the reason for that? File is attached.

Open the Layers panel and you will see a clipping group.

Because the Draw Inside mode creates a clipping group with the option to edit the content. In your case you already created a clipping group.
