I am trying to fill my doodle font with an image. I've managed to do this with black doodle font but everytime I try to do it with a font thats white on the inside it either completely disappears or only the outline is done and the center is still white. I'm doing a mask clipping the same as I do with the black font. Can anyone tell me what to do? Thanks!

You will first have to create shapes inside those back lines (which are shapes themselves)
So: Take the Live paint tool.
Select a yellow color or other contrasty color
Fill all those areas with yellow where you want the image to be
Expand the live paint.
Ungroup the result. And possible you need to ungroup again so that all the letters are separated.
Now you have to select all the yellow shapes that belong to one letter and make compound paths out of them.
Then you can fill them with the image.
You might also want to make separate compound paths out of the black lines that belong to a letter.
