adobe Illustrator keeps crashing when I do anything in it. Espescially when using the shape tools

I want to buy this program but it just keeps crashing on me. Today it's been everytime I try to use the rectangle tool, But it has been crashing when doing other stuff when i'm doing the tutorials. What needs to be done to get this program working? It just freezes. Then I have to open task manager to shut it down

Well I think I may have solved it. I turned off the GPU in adobe Illustrator and so far no problems! We'll see if it fixed it for good. If it does crash again I'll be back hunting more answers.
