AI Exported SVGs ungroup when imporetd into Figma

I'm building icons in AI, finished artwork is made Composite Path, then grouped with any empty 24x24px rectangle frame for built-in 'padding'.

Exporting as SVG, decimal 4 for fidelity — when drag/drop into Figma, the Composite Path and rectangle come in ungrouped as separate elements. I did 500 icons where this didn't happen, not it happens on all of my icons...is there an AI setting that got adjusted with a recent update that may be to blame?

Check out the SVG in Inkscape, which is an SVG editor. Is it like expected in Inkscape?
