Hello,

I save most of my work files to my OneDrive to save space on my desktop.

I am trying to open an illustrator file from my OneDrive and it won't work, it keeps saying the file is locked ID:54.

When I try moving it from One Drive to my desktop it says

"The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “file.ai” can’t be read or written.
(Error code -36)"

Can someone please help, I really need to access this file for work.

Thank you!!!

Are you able to successfully open or move other files stored in your OneDrive folder? You might try signing out and back into the account to make sure everything is properly in sync. Is this a large Illustrator document? Is the file stored in the root OneDrive folder or a sub-folder? If the folder is only available while online you might try changing the setting to "always keep on this device."

Hopefully this hasn't happened, but it's possible the Illustrator file has been corrupted. If the Internet connection blinks out while the file is in the process of uploading there is some risk of corruption. Generally speaking, I only keep copies of files in cloud-based storage such as OneDrive, Dropbox, etc. I just don't trust cloud-based storage enough to rely on it to store the only copy of a file.

Yes, I've moved other files to the desktop and they work perfectly.

The file is stored in a folder within OneDrive and it's 50.5MB.

If the file is corrupted, is there any way of fixing it?

Thanks for your help. I'm definitely going to move all of my Ai files out of OneDrive so this doesn't happen again.
