AI text editable but not selectable (using the text tool)

Hello

We are using Adobe Illustrator 2022 (26.0.3 - 64 bit). When opening a fil containing text, we can edit text but cannot select it using the text tool. When opening this same file on a different PC outside our company, the text can be edited and selected.

Any clue ?

Did you already try to restart Illustrator, your computer?

Reset Preferences can sometimes help with strange behaviour:

So you can change it's color, but not change spelling etc, right? It's probably outlined.

Is it the same file?

Are they sending you the file as a pdf?
