Alert about not enough memory

I can't open two files at same time. The alert is "Not enough memory to open illustration".
I must close one to open another.

Are these large files?

How much RAM do you have in your computer?

And do you have enough free space on your harddisk?

16GB RAM
Problem occurres since a month with small and large files too. The same files before worked correctly.
I've tried to disinstall and reinstall AI but unfurtunately it still the same.

Try if going back to a version that worked helps.
