Hello Adobe.

This problem has persisted for me across the last three updates. When I open a file, animated zoom works fine, but if I use the artboard tool, to create/edit my artboards, once I hop back to any other tool, animated zoom is disabled and it switches to the old zoom, where you click and drag a selection box, and "view using gpu" is Greyed out so I cant switch back. Only workaround i've found is to save, close, and reopen the document so I can use animated zoom again. Please advise.

Hello @maxtophur,

Sorry to hear about this experience. I would request you to try updating your system to macOS 12.4 as we have seen some instances of GPU-related issues being resolved after this particular update.

In case you don't want to update the system right away kindly try running Illustrator under the root user account and share your observations with us.

Kindly update this thread if the issue persists or if you need further assistance.

Thanks,

Anubhav
