Greetings Community,

I am using latest version of Illustrator on a PC.  Following along a Lynda.com tutorial regarding the Appearance Panel, and am unable to see what is happening in the drawing.  I am able to drag "chip" from Appearance Panel into drawing to view the change.  I have tried both GPU Preview and Preview on CPU in the View Menu.  I would be grateful to learn a solution!appearance panel.jpg

In illustrator it is not enough to be on the object you need to target and slect it.

Once you select the object you will see the apperance. It is true for everything you do in Illustrator! Vectors!!!!!!!!!

You will see a gray circle to indicate hte apperance!

Select your object and turn on the eye in front of your blue gradient fill item in the Appearance panel.
